Skill Focus:
Tips and Tricks
Our Focus Courses are designed to improve and hone your technical skill set by concentrating on one topic at a time. Typically shorter in length than our Curriculum courses, these courses are a great way to brush up on a particular skill, or dial in your education where you feel you need it most.
Price: $135+hst
Duration: 1 Day
Who should take this course?
This is a 1-day workshop designed for those who already possess a fair amount of outdoor climbing experience. Participants should be confidently familiar with lead and top-belaying, rappelling, and anchor building.
What will you learn?
This course is an interesting one in that the curriculum is somewhat set, but also somewhat flexible based on what experience and interests students bring with them. With a variety of rope tricks and technical tips to work from, instructors will share different ways to hack your technical game and teach you what situations are best suited for each use. With topics like; freeing stuck rappel ropes, using your ATC to tighten a loose bolt hanger, leap frogging trad gear, stacking rappels, tagging-up gear, "boinking", and much more, this course will sharpen and refine your toolset to a new level.
Prerequisites
Participants should be comfortable with the basics of lead and top-belaying, anchor building, and rappelling.
Time / Location
This course runs from 8am to 4pm at our Chebucto Head location. (In order to provide the best instruction possible, we may on occasion choose a different start time and location depending on weather or other concerns).
